Apocalypse Now
the film feels less like a normal war movie and more like a slow, scary descent into madness. the further it goes, the more uncomfortable and hypnotic it becomes. the film isn’t really about the war in a typical sense, but instead the people in it and how the chaos slowly strips away their sanity, with each stop along the river making their nightmare mission becoming more and more surreal. the end feels less like a mission story and more like a reflection on power, violence, and obsession. its long and slow but that’s kind of what makes it so effective. you feel like you’ve been through what willards has. highly recommend watching.
