Rashomon
A film about lying, and if you were to ask 10 different people they may all say differnt things about it. Such a beautiful story on how people try to protect their own image, and whatever persona they have/want to keep up.
The woods they shot it in, the constant camera movement, the rain, just so much thought put into all of this. So many deep layers, every single element lends itself to extenuating the stories they all told. The first time a fine had shot the sun on film, and its such a poignant staple of the film.
A testament to the masterful storytelling and directing, of Kurosawa and his team.
