Burning is a masterful movie that still lingers in my mind long after watching it. It’s a slow burn thriller that plays with your head, making you question everything you see. The metaphors used throughout are just brilliant. They leave you questioning if Jongsu is just a frustrated guy whose jealousy is making him imagine a scenario in his head, or if he is actually uncovering a crime. Between Haemi’s bizarre, clueless behavior and Ben’s strange calmness, the weight of the tension is felt throughout the entire movie. The more the story unfolds, the more burning for hunger you get to find the truth. Watching Jongsu try to navigate his own jealousy while uncovering Ben’s facade of lies is absolutely fascinating. Such a beautiful and haunting masterpiece of a movie.

This movie made me feel angry and sad at the same time. Watching the mother leave and the kids trying to survive on their own was heartbreaking. Akira doing his best, finding the wrong friends, carrying everything alone was really hard to watch. The title fits perfectly, because nobody notices nor helps them . It’s painful, but a beautiful film. Let’s not even talk about the suitcase…
