Adolescence
on a purely technical level, this is absolutely astonishing! i have a complicated relationship with this style of shooting, as it often feels more gimmicky than worthwhile. very pleased that adolescence uses it as more than just a gimmick, and it definitely feels as if it’s necessary to the series itself. this is absolutely one of the most important texts of the decade, and it should absolutely be held as that. for me, this series loses a lot of steam after episode 1, and the rest of this series didn’t feel it reached the level of quality or prowess that the first episode encapsulated (except possibly for episode 3). im not as in love with it as i know a lot of people are, but it’s difficult to deny just how monumental this could be for some young people, but I do feel like it could’ve been more. definitely worth the watch
