as kids, we were always taught with what to avoid. whether it’s close intimate relationships or affections, literally anything that reaches to an extent that comes off inappropriate in the eyes of many. i don’t think a lot of people realize that the mindset & tradition we bestow upon children greatly affects how they live with their minds circulating around certain perceptions of ours. maybe the kids in school never meant asking if they’re together in a despiteful sense, but more of that it’s what they were taught of to consider unusual. most parents or guardians never realize how confusing it is for children to grasp the idea of what should & shouldn’t they be allowed to do because how else would kids know up to what extent they could be affectionate with a close friend if such intimacy is viewed ill-natured?
