Fallen Angels

I wish Sandman was more like this and what I mean by that is… I wish action movies were more stylized like this. usually action movies make it look like a comic book that came to life or movies based on comic books make an effort to do a side by side, panel to frame copy. And I know this isn’t based on any sort of comic book but it felt like one and it felt like I was IN IT. Like I dove right into this strange world and got to experience it instead of just watching. Idk. That’s where my mind went when I saw this. Like what if Sandman was filmed like this? God it’s like Wong Kar wai really asks every time, “What is the absolute most interesting way I can shoot this scene?”  Anyway... I love this movie. I enjoyed the elements of magical realism, the tone, the music, the main characters’ repeated lines at the end.
