Alien: Romulus
I just recently got into the Alien franchise, and the only two movies that I've genuinely enjoyed are the first two entries. So, my expectations weren't too high for this one. Then, I started seeing bts videos of all the practical effects they've used for the Xenomorph, and I was immediately interested. Let me say it, THIS IS A TOP 3 FOR ME!
I love how Rain and Andy's relationship was written, and it low-key reminded me of Ellen and Newt. I'm also very happy that two characters I couldn't stand died pretty soon lmao.
Usually, I found myself getting a little bit bored watching these sorts of movies because there's a lot of build-up and they're slow-paced. But this one had a perfect mix of action-packed scenes and slower ones to develop the characters' stories. The Xenomorph was just super pretty, and this proves that it's so much better when you use practical effects instead of CGI. There is one human-alien creature thing at the end that scared the shit out of me.
