Adolescence
This tackled the alt-right, sexist, incel pipeline, which is so prevalent of an issue today and in recent years. Even when I was younger, I remember getting so much "Feminist gets REKT by Ben Shapiro!!!" content on my feed. It even influenced some of my beliefs, to an extent, for a small period of time (maybe year 7/8/9). Luckily, I had many amazing women in my life so there was never any hatred, and I realised soon how lame these guys and their ideas were - despite how 'cool' they looked on social media.
Nowadays it's way worse, with figures like Andrew Tate literally advocating for shit like male dominance and female submission. Even worse with Musk and Zuckerbergs removal of censors to glaze Donald Trump. I constantly see dumbasses not believing in climate change, or hating Jews or women - literally unashamedly. Insane. This show came at a good time.
It was well done, in that classic starring-Stephen-Graham-esque single-shot style. Well done to Philip Baratini! Everyone is talking about this rn. It approached the narrative in an interesting way, chronologically, and who it focused on.
There were some other things I'd have liked exploring. Not the trial or murder or anything - I liked that it avoided that. Maybe some further exploration into social media responses and discussions? Not sure.
Good - 7/10
