Barbie
I cant believe I've still not watched this film until today. It was so good and it is genuinely me if I was a film. Watching it only just today is genuinely shocking behaviour that I wish to apologize for.
The characterisation and casting is so beautiful. I think every single actor did such a good job at portraying their character and you could just tell all of them were having so much fun doing it. I think this film is perfect proof that even though there was a lot of famous faces, doesn't mean it makes a bad movie. I think the characters were just a perfect balance of comedic, relatable and serious in every aspect.
The costume was just beautiful and I can't name one outfit in this film that I hated, I just love pink guys I'm sorry. I think the colour of everything was done so well and they really contrasted the Barbieland with LA so well and it really showed that nice difference that was needed to be established.
I think watching this was so funny as in a performing arts class I could just constantly see myself comparing different characters to my friends and it just made the film so funny and relatable as I was able to make that connection from the characters and my personal life.
I also think the lower energy scenes were so needed and so beautifully sad. If I wasn't watching this with people, I know I would be balling my eyes out by the end. The music and everything was just used so well to have that emotional impact.
The only criticism I would have is that I would have personally preferred the film to end on a bittersweet note rather than a punchy joke but other than that I really enjoyed this film and it definitely made me want to start watching more films again after my hiatus..
