Jojo Rabbit
I love WW2 media, I always think it's so interesting and I was excited going into this film as I love satirical war media, such as Cabaret. I have to say this did not disappoint my expectations at all.
This film was genuinely so accurate to the time period, naturally there was a few errors but nothing huge. The costume and set designers genuinely did such a good job at the designs. They made it colourful enough to not be boring but still remained accurate to the time period.
Obviously some of the accents were a bit questionable (Rebel Wilson), but that's to be expected from not an entirely German cast, they all still did such an amazing job and they really made the film feel believable.
I think this film is interesting personally as it takes a very drastic turn halfway through from more of a comedic film to the seriousness of war. I think this could've been done to reflect the general opinions of war at the time as many people didn't take it 100% seriously at first until something happened that effected them in it, for example, the film started to have a more serious and grey tone to it once Jojo found out his mother had been killed.
I just love this film so much, it's so genuinely deep for a comedic anti-war film and it really shows how much Hitler and the Nazis had control over the younger generation in a comedic and engaging way.
I also can't name a point in time where I was bored from the movie as it was always exciting or funny or gut wrenching, there were so many moments in this film that I bawled my eyes out; not to mention, it has the best soundtrack ever.
