Priscilla
Oh Priscilla, the woman that you are.
I absolutely adored this film, I thought it was gorgeous. I couldn't point out a single flaw if I tried. The lighting was a perfect mix of natural and colorful depending on the scene and every scene was beautifully lit to make the actors look stunning. I think the use of natural lighting in this film is gorgeous and it just does so many favors for the atmosphere of the film.
The casting was done amazingly in this film, I think that every character played their part wonderfully and it just completely added to the humanity of the film and really gave Priscilla and Elvis a human feel rather than seeing them as just celebrities. I think Sofia Coppola did a fantastic job at highlighting the humanity on both parts and how many people glorify Elvis despite many of his flaws and how many people forget Priscilla.
My only drawback would be to make this film longer, genuinely I could sit here for hours watching a film like this, it was an absolute pleasure to watch and I will definitely be rewatching at some point, I miss it already.
I think the costume design, hair and makeup was also gorgeous and every costume looked so flattering on Cailee Spaeny. I genuinely don't think I could name one bad outfit that she wore in the film, they were all so gorgeous and I need them now. I think that Cailee did an amazing job at portraying Priscilla and she really did her justice, she was amazing in this film.
I also think the soundtrack was such a good choice, there were enough songs people would know in there without having them all be Elvis songs. There weren't many Elvis songs in there at all, but I love that. I really love how there wasn't much focus on Elvis' life at all but much rather Priscilla's.
I also just love how the film is so muted in color. Normally, I would hate dull colored films but this film did it in such a way that it still felt like a bright film, even though most scenes were muted. I loved the contrast between the bright colors and the muted lighting I really think it gave the film such an intimate effect.
Overall, I just loved this film so much, everyone who worked on it did an amazing job and I don't think it will be long before I rewatch.
