Scream 4

Genuinely my favourite opening out of all of them. I think it's genuinely such a cool concept and like making the audience question like what the real movie is. It's also just a good start to a fantastic movie. (Also me and Erin are so Marnie and Jenny) I do like the cast of this one but I do feel like you can't really enjoy any of them too much like I LOVE Kirby and Jill but other than that I'm not too fussed about any of the new characters in this film. Judy is such a missed opportunity for a great character and it's so annoying like I feel like in scream 5 she really grows up but in this film she's so irrelevant and annoying, like she could've been such a good character as well.. she's also a victim of the randomly added lore of her and Sidney going to high school together. This is definitely one of the gorier screams, Olivia's death was actually the most brutal thing I've seen in Scream because like hello. Watching Scream 4 is like the end of a really good book, the next two are okay but I always treat them as their own separate movies, they're okay but nothing like the first four. It's bittersweet in a way cuz I feel like this is the final good relevance the main three have. The only thing that really bugs me about this film is the amount they check pulses same with the 5th film. People get told they're dead and they've obviously been stabbed and are not breathing they still check the pulse about 7 times per body 😭 (For example when they find Robbie's body on Jill's porch, Dewey checks his pulse and then RIGHT AFTER HIM, Judy checks it again when she's literally just seen that Dewey has checked it HELLO??) I genuinely do think that Jill has the most realistic motive out of any of the Ghostfaces. After this film a lot of the motives start to repeat themselves or are exaggerated and not realistic at all, Jill's is a genuine motive that anyone could happen to the feeling of family jealousy is real and if like the feelings are left they genuinely could lead to something like this happening as opposed to something like scream 2 where the motive was literally just movies. I just can't get over Charlie, this man is the KING of overreactions and crash outs. Bro is the definition of a discord mod and I acc can't, this guy. I also just love the entire trope of one of the killers betraying the other, I think it makes such a good story and plot twist I know it's semi overdone but it's so good also the hospital scene and end of the film is just mwah cuz like cinema. I also love the link to the first movie in terms of Jill framing everyone and planting herself as a sole survivor and how far she was willing to go to make it look like she had really gotten harmed. She's easily the best Ghostface based on how manipulative she is alone. I do think the quiz game is so overdone though like it was okay in the first movie but now it's getting a bit boring and same with the next film.
