Comet
okay guys i have a lot to say about this one. i’m currently sobbing to the point where i feel nauseous watching the end credits and i don’t even know what particularly made me cry. i’ve been dying to watch this movie for like a year now since i found out about it literally checking weekly if it’s been added to some free streaming site (shout out to flex). for starters, mr. robot is my favorite tv show, been my favorite since 2015. i’ve loved sam esmail’s writing and directing, i even love the way a majority of his shots are 95% background. on top of this, i love emmy rossum, sam and emmy are my celeb parents (i mean this in the most unweird way as possible i just love them so much). and then on top of that, justin long?? this movie already seems perfect for me. i even tried to go in a bit critical bc i didn’t want to be biased but… i kept seeing a lot of reviews about how they didn’t seem to care about the characters as much, but i really didn’t see this movie about the characters themselves. like the focus of this movie is on time, their relationship, and always being too afraid to commit or even what is love and why do we keep going back to those who hurt us. it’s the reason why we don’t meet dell’s mom whose mentioned in all time frames, or we don’t see jack who was the defining person who tore them apart. i love that the focus is on these two characters, we don’t meet really anyone else, but at the same time we know nothing about them besides their time together. anyways the scene towards the beginning where dell is running after kimberly yelling “what are we doing? is this a chase scene?” in the middle of hollywood forever cemetery will forever be etched in my mind.
