**Baby Driver • **2017 Directed By: Edgar Wright > Directed by Edgar Wright comes **Baby Driver** released in 2017, starring Ansel Elgort, Jon Bernthal, and Lily James in this action thriller distributed by Sony Pictures. **"Looks like your in a... pink and glittery mood..."** *Recap.* This movie is mainly centralized around *Baby*, a driver that got caught up in the wrong place at the wrong time in his life. His job is simple, drive around criminals that go in, do the money heist, and when they come back use his advanced driving skills to outrun the cops. But theres one thing, *Baby *is a really good driver. So when he finally tells his boss that he's done driving, he decides to get a new job and starts talking to a girl named Debora. But one night as they're having a date, his boss comes and tells him he needs him back. *Baby *then tells him **no **and in return his boss threatens to kill his whole family and him if he doesn't return; and so he did. But this time, *Baby is done with supporting crime.* He decides to backfire the plan, get his criminals dead, and in the end, he turns himself in. In the end, *Baby* is finally reunited with Debora. The ending showed that *Baby *finally confronted the consequences for his actions. For most of the film, he was outrunning his problems. By surrenduring, he finally understood he had to confront them instead of running away. *Review.* **Best movie I've ever seen. **Without a doubt. I love everything in this movie; the cars, the music, the action. Everything was so well done and the story was so well made. The ending was the cherry on top too, I love how Baby finally turned himself in after running away from the police the whole time and when he gets out, him and Debora finally go on their road trip while listening to music. Such a great way to connect with someone in my opinion too. Baby was just such a relatable character also. On the outside, he was just a quiet kid who had lots of trauma in his younger days. His family died in a car crash and the only thing to keep him together throughout the hard times was music. I just love how this movie was made and everything about it. The main plot was great. I really liked how it started around the hour mark instead of earlier. Even though the plot didn't hit until later, this movie wasn't a slow burn too. It made sure to show the important parts about *Baby*, his job, his driving, his background, his current life, and especially how he connected and met Debora. I loved how Baby in the beginning started by saying "One last drive" after the opening scene. It showed that instead of trying to keep being part of a criminal group that he wanted to leave and become something different. And in his case, he was able to leave and change, but fate had other plans for him. It showed that even when things start to get better, they can always go right back to what they were. As for the antagonists,

**Marty Supreme • **2025 Directed By: Josh Safdie > Directed by Josh Safdie, comes **Marty Supreme** released in 2025, starring Timothée Chalamet, Odessa A'Zion, Kevin O'Leary, and Tyler The Creator in a sports comedy-drama distributed by A24. **Recap.** The main character **Marty Mouser **is on a voyage to become one of the best table tennis players in the world. The film follows the 23 year old as he goes through the struggles of life while trying to keep his pro table tennis career alive. He goes through many challenges throughout this film and many are because of his cockyness and not wanting to work. At first, **Marty** is able to make it to London for the biggest table tennis tournament of the year, where he gets 2nd to Koto Endo; a deaf table tennis player who snuck up to the top following a Japanese athletics ban. After this, **Marty **makes many bad decisons including rejecting a deal from Mr. Rockwell that would help fuel his journey because he felt he had the talents to go further. He then is met by many strategies he has to try and make money so he can go to the big tournament in Japan in the following weeks. However, they all backfire and he goes back to Mr. Rockwell for assistance which leads to him finally beating Koto Endo in a *friendly *match for his pen brand. **First Thoughts.** I can't lie, I was pretty dissapointed in this movie. I came in with high expectations because of fellow reviews and the hype surrounding it. But by the end of this movie, I didn't really feel it was that good. I wish it was more about Marty trying to become a pro table tennis player instead of just him being a broke 23 year old trying to make it to a single tournament just for him to not be able to play in it. I understand the plot for the movie about the struggles that he goes through it just didn't really hit a spot and lived up to the expectations in my head. But overall, I did like the concept and it was unique so I'll give it that. And also, the acting was amazing, Timothée Chalamet always hits the spot on his roles and plays it perfectly. I also love the cast of this film too. As for the film overall, it wasn't bad but just wasn't for me. The acting was great like I said but the pace felt pretty slow and dragged along for being a 2h30m film. They could've cut out some parts in my opinion. I do feel like it was *realistic* in a way because of the struggles he faces like the unexpected pregnancy after returning, him losing the dog, and the ways he would try to make money like betting on table tennis in a random pub. They all seem like things that could realistically happen to someone in the 50s that was trying to become a professional table tennis player. One thing that I don't understand though is why Marty never got a job. I feel like if he wanted to go to Japan so badly why not get a job? What I loved about this movie the most was the chemistry between Timothée Chalamet and Tyler The Creator. They made so many funny moments throughout this and really made the film enjoyable. Tyler's character was also a big part in this movie more than it seems as he was kinda like Marty's sidekick and like helped him find somewhere to say many times and drive around. Besides that, Murray's dog incident where Marty lost him was a part I felt like wasn't really needed. In the end, I feel like he should've had actual money and Marty was able to go to Japan instead of Marty finding out it was fake and deciding to go back to Mr. Rockwall for the third time just to play in his advertisement for pens. For ending purposes, this movie closed in amazing fashion. I love how Marty was finally able to beat Endo in the end even though to the fans it didn't seem that big, to Marty, he felt all the weight on his shoulders fall off and felt completed for once. Him also finally seeing his son for the first time after Rachel got shot and had to give birth was really good too. It felt like a full circle moment for him and a chance for him to restart in his life and have a fresh start. One last thing to add is that I love the out of pocketness that the Safdie Brothers brought to this movie. The exchanges that Marty and Willy had at times were so funny and random. Also, some one liners Marty was ripping too at the beginning when his ego was high as the moon was really good too like the things he was sayingnto Mr. Rockwell. And don't get me started on that honey scene oh my goodness did that catch me off guard. In the end, this movie had enjoyable moments but the pace felt really slow and I wish that there was more action involved. It felt like a slow roll but the acting was there and the casr was just so good. Didn't hit my expectations but hey, it really wasn't that bad anyways. The idea was great and the execution was there it just wasn't my cup of tea. **3 out of 5 stars**
