Blow Out

That ending…. My god. John Travolta was fantastic in this very well directed thriller. I’m convinced Brian De Palma only creates his fever dreams, especially the end sequence, great cinema. This was a brilliant watch on Criterion, I picked it up at HMV without knowing much about the film other than the good reviews and it very much outdid my expectations. Much better than Scarface, and I enjoyed Travolta in this much more than in Pulp Fiction.  A brilliant watch, very gripping and a unique plot. There isn’t much to flaw about this, some of the acting was a bit mid but Travolta’s performance was great enough so it didn’t matter. Some of the cinematography didn’t age well due to todays special effects but that really doesn’t detract from the film at all. Also one of my personal favourite endings to a film.  “Now that’s a scream” 10/10
