You get the sense you are watching a family slowly unravel, like a ball of yarn, drifting into a quiet, creeping chaos, only to realize it has all been building towards one hell of a crescendo. One of the most striking portrayals of family dysfunction I have ever seen. After this, I am not even sure Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s talents belong to horror at all, but rather in his ability to understand the human condition widely and articulate it so naturally and with precision. well done

I went to the website after hoping for a follow up since the documentary ended rather bleak. " In order to keep Ron in his home, he will need approximately $40,000 per year for the next 20 years. There are currently no government programs that would support someone like Ron staying in his home. The only option the government currently provides Ron is relocation to an assisted living facility. " Its amazing to me how broad the gap is for government assistance, and how effortlessly this documentary exposes it. How easy is it to fall through the cracks in our current infrastructure even when the solution is obvious. It really opened my eyes to the fact that many in assisted living may not have needed assisted living but had no other options. wow. Besides that, this has all the makings of a tall tell. if it were documented and filmed, who would have believed it.
