Religion is one of humanity’s worst inventions. I’m an atheist in a Hindu family, and I constantly question my relatives about how religion is destroying humanity. I don’t think religion is inherently a bad idea—it can bring positive energy to the soul—but I rarely see that kind of positivity in people today.
I watched this movie with my mom, who has deep faith in God. Religion isn’t everything, yet nowadays it seems like religion is everything to so many people. Folks get offended at the slightest criticism of their beliefs, and they aggressively try to push their religious knowledge on others. I’m not targeting any specific religion—I’m talking about every single one. It’s just another masterpiece by the legendary Satyajit Ray.
