i’m clearly in the minority here but I wholeheartedly prefer the original Evil Dead and even the first reboot movie from the 2010’s over this. it takes a certain kind of balance for me to really appreciate a horror/comedy hybrid and this simply doesn’t do it for me. Bruce Campbell’s performance completely misses the mark for me as I think he leaned too far into a cheesy comedy B-movie approach with his “physicality.” watching Ash have his own separate American Werewolf in London side plot while he’s alone in the cabin bored me to hell, I much prefer the original’s (albeit cliche) setup of a group of friends on a trip staying at a cabin and dealing with supernatural entities. I also think the original’s implementation and introduction of the Necronomicon is infinitely more interesting than the lazy bullshit they try to pull here. was really hoping and expecting to like this more than I did

19 fucking 66. timeless; the revolution will not be antiquated. I think this movie might’ve just changed my life

the more things change the more they change the same. once a police state, always a police state
