People had a choice. They could continue wandering through the endless darkness... or they could look down, and embrace what they always had and loved

One of Ryan Goslings best performances. He portrays isolation and social anxiety in such an authentic and realistic way, it’s so incredibly believable. The love and support that everyone has for Lars is so beautiful and the film really shows that Bianca truely becomes integrated into the lives of everyone, even the audience. I’ll admit it, I cried over a life size sex doll. I was LIED TO when I was told this was a comedy.

Genuinely incredible movie. I had no clue what was going on the entire time until it all suddenly made sense and every piece fell together all at once. All the actors were fantastic and the cinematography, lighting, and transitions were so unique but so well done. I don’t think there’s ever been a movie that could pinpoint everything to one scene so well that everything corresponds to something. The confusion concealed the ending so well that when it was ripped away so suddenly in the reveal, the impact was even greater than it would have been if it was just any story of this trope. Did think I was tripping the entire film though, not that that’s necessarily a bad thing.

I didn’t really get the hype as much as I had thought I would, but towards the end I did begin to get it more, especially in a few specific scenes I found more impactful Amazing soundtrack though, Sufjan Stevens will never do me wrong
