Withnail & I

This felt like being sick on a school morning but still having to go. The characters were so intricate and real, and even though Withnail is a narcissistic dick I still managed to feel for him throughout the film. The voice of the film (...& I) is probably a new favorite protagonist of mine, the way he is always the butt of the joke but still the savior is so interesting to me. Even though Withnail is portrayed as the one who has it all; the talent, the looks, the money, the narrator has the one thing he doesn't, genuine compassion. Throughout the film Withnail never once thinks for anyone except himself, and it lands him on the path he despises the most. He expects the world, therefore he receives nothing. Also the soundtrack was so amazing, its like the blueprint for Trainspotting in my head.
