Asteroid City
i think that this was very different for wes anderson, not as technically innovative as the previous, but i feel like this might be the most emotional and personal film from his. this film talks about art, and how art imitates life, or in this case, how life influences art.
i love how patient anderson is in this film. we're always used to wes' films being energetic, quick and quirky, though this is quirky, funny and visually playful, there's a certain slowness and patience that this film has. this let's the viewers examine the performances and the this the character says more, there are layers in their dialogue that not only breaks the 4th wall, but also carry a certain emotional sign to the status of each characters.
this might be one of wes' films that i cant stop thinking and feels like i need to explore more.
