Glad I rewatched, took away some of the initial awe at the visuals and let me appreciate it clearly. Stand by the Hades/hell segment is genuinely amazing. Also the scenes inside the Trojan Horse, and the flashback towards the end - the sounds and music really make it. Feel like this time I really picked up on Tom Holland’s performance being very lacklustre in comparison to others, granted his character was less obvious but still, it became slightly grating as the film went on - specifically when he finally met his father, where was the reaction? Would be so easy to give it 5 stars but there’s just something missing for me, but did thoroughly enjoy it again.

Cameron my shayla, must have watched this so many times but never fails to put me in a good mood.

Second film of the night, vibes took a drastic switch up, that ending was not okay. Read other reviews after, this might be unpopular but I thought Briony was also a victim, caught up in tragedy. The real villain isn’t a confused and lonely child, it’s Benedict Cumberbatch’s character. Yes she made a horrific mistake, but to forget the real villain and misplace blame and anger on a child I kind of feel is missing the whole point. Fundamentally, it was that man who ruined all of their lives and Briony had to spend the rest of her life trying to atone for his crime. Also Keira Knightley’s dress is the most gorgeous thing I’ve ever seen.
