Avengers: Endgame
Avengers Endgame is my endgame
Haven’t seen this movie since 2022.
Marvel is the reason why I fell in love with movies and storytelling in the first place as a kid. I grew up watching all the marvel movies on plex, a app where my father copied the movies and put them on because Disney + didn’t exist back then. The Idea of all these interesting aspects that didn’t include your basic villain hero story was a possibility blew my mind, civil war pushed it but this movie is my beginning on a journey to watch every movie I am or was interested too see. It’s my foundation basically.
Yes, it’s not my favourite marvel movie and I’ve seen some little plot holes in this movie than infinity war had. But it’s just my comfort movie and besides those flaws it is a damn fk great sci fi movies.
I screamed off the balconies back then that superhero movies aren’t just superhero movies. There are teams, creative teams behind them that see artistic ways and adaptations to these characters. After I saw Endgame 9 yr old me knew he hadn’t had to convince ppl that these movies were quite rock solid. I was happy than I remember. Together with my best friend Rowell who had seen it we were talking non stop about.
It’s not one of the best movies off all time. Sci fi wise it has definitely a cultural influence and significance but also quality wise. Marvel dominated the box office in the 2010’s because they had a fanbase that supported them and eveytime they just came with another good story.
After Endgame Disney got a new boss who took charge over then head of marvel Kevin Feige. He forced quantity over quality and that hurted marvel really bad. It was also the time I got into middle school. I saw more movies and fell in love with a lot of them but Marvel output became 60/40 good wise. Still bangers but some missers. I thought I became to old for it back in 2023-2024. I still watched once in a while a movie again but not a lot. After all it’s still my comfort franchise. I always said when ppl asked me that im a marvel fan, not the biggest nerd but I never skipped a single project because i ate it like my fav food.
I knew the moment Feige came back things were about to heat up again. This time I looked too marvel from a more elder “i like it but not obsessed” view. Thunderbolts and f4 were the first full Feige projects and they hit like the old solid “peak” marvel days. And don’t get me wrong because the pre-feige2025 era there were some bangers like gotg 3, Deadpool and wolverine, Loki and more. But I felt hyped for everything again. Not obsessed just hyped slightly.
The first time I saw this movie back in 2019 on the big screen I fell in love. And 9yr old me bawled because Tony and Natasha left the chat iykyk. Fuckass Russo Brothers and Feige for that. Because it’s my comfort movie like other marvel projects (have more but talking about marvel only now) I’ve cried on rewatches.
This time not really I thought. I looked at it like a cringe fk proud dad moment 😭🙏 happy I got to witness it all on the big screen. But the last scene with Cap and Peggy reminded me so much of that time that I left one tear.
Seeing this and remembering every other marvel projects I will thank Marvel till I die for putting that content out because it made me fell in love with so much more movies. Movies that ofc imo were 10000x better (or sometimes dogshit fr).
Seeing the cast chair announcements and f4 and thunderbolts I am pretty curious what the Russo’s and Feige will put out with Doomsday but I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be something great. I trust them, and if it’s nothing like IW and Endgame I will be glad I just got to see some of my fav characters reunite and share the screen together.
THAT MEANS LOKI AND THOR RUSSOS LISTEN PLS
anyways my point is that marvel is like my extra family when I grew up. Not so much now as then but Im pretty grateful for their influence and I will forever root for them. When they reboot I’ll just be happy we got this MCU.
The sun will shine on Marvel again next year..
If you got that thx appreciate it
