Dune
Dune Part one is the perfect example of t a great political sci fi drama. One of the most influencial movies for this genre. Truly goundbreaking what Denis has made. 3 time watching its and I just still am amazed by the world and myths of dune.
Because I have seen the movie multiple times I want to take aways some other point than the obvious and usual glazing.
Like I really started to appreciate Duncan Idaho this time. He by far is the toughest character out there. Just like in the books he dies but I was suprised to learn that he actually is the real mc of dune and will return in some peak form in part three (in the books Dune: messiah). Not only Duncan but Lady Jessica are the real showstealers of this movie. Rebecca's ability and skills to express her emotion with just her eyes is beyond extraordinary, she 100% definitely is one of my personal favs actress out there.
But every character is just so rich as is the mytholigy and worldbuilding. Compare this to blade runner and starwars and imo yo go a real winner here.
It is almost perfect this movie. Good thing its sequel is perfect and I really look forward seeing it again.
And I am so curious how Villeneuve is gonna pull Part three off because people at the time were shocked how dicatator mode Paul goes. Fun fact: the author Frank Herbet wrote Messiah because most people saw Paul still as a good guy.
Well be prepared folks because you aint gonna like Paul this time. Im suprised if you even did at the end of Part two.......
