Bridget Jones's Diary

I am Bridget. Bridget is me. Should I start smoking? The answer is no, but Bridget makes me feel like it’s a yes. And while I am fundamentally against keeping a diary, this movie almost makes me want to start one in the hopes it will one day be made into an excellent film. This movie brings me so much joy and comfort. People hype up Love Actually and The Holiday a lot this time of year, but Bridget Jones is the winning British Christmas movie. I wish people like Colin Firth were real :( so sad he was invented for romantic comedies. Every single one of these movies is great. I have never seen a series with such reliable sequels in my life.  Literature Nerd Time: I love a Pride and Prejudice adaptation where neither Lizzie nor Darcy are perfect. Screwed up weirdos deserve love too! Jane Austen knew it, and we should too. Also, combining Mrs.Bennett and Lydia into the character of Bridget’s mom is just so perfect, well done.
