I really enjoyed this, it’s a great example of how to create a horror movie that allows the horror/scares to coexist with the story of the characters rather than leading with it. Cregger’s style of showing you every possible perspective is a really fun addition to this movie especially when things start to pay off. I wasn’t initially on board with that style when I watched Barbarian but I definitely want to revisit that now
The story is well crafted and weaves in and out of itself smoothly, the atmosphere and jumpscares are great. There are some unanswered questions and things that just happen for the sake of what the movie is about but I can’t say that it took me out of it in anyway. There’s some good comedy bits too, nothing felt unearned or forced which is rare in horror movies
I will say, I’m still undecided if I like the ending or not honestly
