Thank goodness government surveillance like this doesn’t happen today 👀

Supremely well acted and well written. It had many of the facets of a Tarantino movie, but never felt as audacious as they typically do (probably why it’s not as discussed as his other works). Regardless, this was great, and I will probably put this in the cycle of movies to watch with work on next semester 😭 ✈️👩✈️🍒🚐🧤

Super Fly serves better as a window into the blaxploitation genre than as a piece of entertainment. Most of this film was pretty mediocre with a few notable exceptions. The score from Curtis Mayfield is great and the character of Youngblood Priest is very very cool (and may have the best name I’ve ever heard) As a whole, the gritty filmmaking style reminded me of *The French Connection, *but for a number of reasons I prefer the latter. I think *Truck Turner* just set the bar too high.
