Fuck! Every day we get closer to this film being in the present instead of the distant future as intended. Everything about the movie was great, Joaquin does an amazing job performing as an in-perfect human, and here it shows. Scarlett Johansson was perfect as Samantha and the fact that she was only here as a voice is impressive because it feels like she's right there. The score was amazing and beautiful, I loved the use of piano and it felt like the scenes were it played were constructed of the music instead of the music added later. Which is something I love when filmmakers do.
There's a part of me here that relates to Theodore (JP) in a way was a good representation UNTIL the whole AI relationship point BUT we are not that far from that with today's achievements. Companies like Open AI are constantly improving their chatbots and one day they'll likely become more emotionally charged and that will be what tears apart humanity IMO. Not like a flat-out apocalypse but in the sense that they would know our vulnerabilities and emotional states without having to ask. We've already seen a decline in human interaction since 2020 but with improved AI and services like the "META-verse", how long until we're all separated?
I gotta commit to distancing myself from AI because how long will it be until someone like my future children becomes addicted like Theodore? It's questions like this that made the movie so fun for me and that's why I have to give it a 5/5. It made me think and sit down with my thoughts at the end of the film.
