The Host

My favourite part about this movie is that it wasn’t built how I’d expect a scary monster film to be built. It felt more real, like this is a thing that is actually happening rather than completely on the lines of fantasy.  The characters were likeable and felt realistic, there were humorous moments despite a monster trying to eat everyone. I’m like "hey maybe the monster is nice" and then it spat out a bunch of remains. It was saving food for later 😔.  I always think about my review as I’m waiting, and was originally going to give it a 4 1/2 with a thing saying "have the guts to kill a kid" and then well, you know. I love it in movies when the whole point in everything ends up not mattering because they died/moved on. I don’t think this movie is for everyone, but it’s definitely for me.
