Obsession

I’m really grappling with my relationship to horror movies. There are some which I find manageably scary but mostly intriguing and quite thrilling. Then there are some which keep me truly uncomfortable and thinking about when it’s gonna be over. I don’t dislike these movies after the fact. Contrarily I actually really like thinking about them and analyzing their themes and commentary. Obsession definitely falls into the latter. I really do think it's a good movie. I think it's a clever exploration of relationships, fixation, and what love even is. There are real lessons you could take away from this that actually apply to real life. It's also very funny at times and man was that necessary because... It's just scary man. I don't know if I'm supposed to credit it more for that. My fight or flight response was kicking the whole movie. I don't think the story would have worked without it, I wouldn't have changed anything, but dude I don't know if I'm built for this. Post-hoc I loved it. Mid-watch I couldn't wait for it to end. I don't know how I'm supposed to handle that. Will think more.
