This film came with a completely different idea, and it worked. Having an animated Spider-Man film featuring Miles Morales might, at first impression, seem like a “discarded film,” but the mix of adolescence and a modern style works perfectly. It is also guided by a cartoon-like art style, which may seem kind of strange at first, but it fits the film perfectly.
This film shows the huge idea behind it with transperency: being Spider-Man means having the courage to “face” everyone in order to save the world, no matter who you are fighting or what consequences it may cause for you.
Another successful aspect of the film was the characters. Miles has to face the challenge of becoming Spider-Man while also discovering the real identity of his uncle. His father also changes his opinion about Spider-Man, and so on.
In general, the combination of animation, a teenage Spider-Man, and a cartoon-like style creates the perfect foundation for introducing the multiverse.
