I definitely liked the movie for 2/3 of it. The beginning and setup were great. The middle slasher vibes and complexity of having the worlds collide was crazy. But getting it the ending threw me for a loop I’m not sure I liked. I understand the ending is up for interpretation and having the final battle between the original Adelaide and Red was so important. But to me it just feels kind of throw together especially with how the rest of the Tethered kid of just have this big demonstration and that all there is to it. They killed their other selves and now just exist. Maybe there is a deeper meaning to it all. Even after reading some reviews about the deeper societal meaning of those ostracized and overlooked by society taking over I just didn’t see the vision with this one. Still a fun a worthwhile horror film just not exactly my vibe.

For my first Jordan Peele movie, especially this late into getting to watch his works, this was a crazy introduction. This movie knew how to play on the human psyche in every aspect of the meaning. Mixed in with real life social commentary in subversive way around the quiet racism and making into a true horror spectacle was insane. Playing on the semi-real possibility of something like this actually happening makes this all the more scary regardless of race. The way the story pulls you into a false sense of belief just like Chris did was masterful. And the way it played on the aspect of feeling like you were in Chris’s shoes the whole time truly made it horrifying.

I think the residents are still evil guys…

Robert Pattinson continues his generational run in film taking on the legendary Chris Hansen in a crazy thriller. And credit to Skyler Girondo in his role as Dan Plumb, showing the journey the reality of meeting your heroes and chasing your dreams isn’t always what it’s cut out to be. The cinematography was unreal and I loved the feel of the movie. It really felt like you were helping make the show unfold from the eyes of the production crew. But what’s crazier is the lengths people will go to chase their dreams and uphold their ideals as the movie dramatizes. This movie shows how perception of good and evil varies amongst people and just how far people will go to get what they want.
