“I know that you don’t need a man, Jill. But I sure as hell need you.” and that is the part where i need my own wes (nor nick robinson). i love how this gave me you’ve got mail vibes, and that’s literally one of my favorite watches from last year! it was so fun catching all the little references throughout the movie. i LOVE a good pop culture reference, and the amount of taylor swift in this?? absolutely no complaints :] i’m also a huge sucker for stories about sisterhood, so this one hit me right in the heart. i found myself missing isabelle just as much as jill else did. and when wes asked for her blessing... i was done for. i’m literally sobbing. it was such a sweet and sincere small gesture :( also, if voicemail culture existed where i live, i would be SO annoying!!! i’d leave my friends and family a million voicemails just because. there’s something so comforting about knowing someone took a moment out of their day to leave you a little message, just to let you know they’re thinking about you. i’ve never really experienced that myself, but i like to imagine that’s what it feels like—and i think that’s really beautiful. i seriously need more romcoms like this! and while we’re at it, i definitely need to see nick robinson in more romcoms because he fits this genre way too well. i’m so sure the crowd collectively agrees on this one 🤓
