Brokeback Mountain

Tying for my most watched movie on this app, this still holds up so well. Beyond its story, Brokeback represents the West in a pretty true way. Before I worked in Idaho and Wyoming, this movie was a big reason behind that desire. Now that I’ve done it, and I’m back here, something still connects and resonates so deeply. The way they still talk about that one summer working in the mountains, one summer that changed them fundementally. I need to get back out West. The way this film allows its characters to be both traditionally masculine and queer I still haven’t seen in another movie. Beautifully shot, great original soundtrack, this is really one of the best movies!
