Apocalypse Now
I just love movies.
Apocalypse Now was one of those rare experiences where I sat in front of the TV with my mouth wide open. I honestly couldn’t believe this film came out in 1979. The visuals are stunning, the setting is immersive, and the story is fascinating, all within a war film, a genre I used to think simply wasn’t for me.
I was clearly wrong.
I’m still amazed at how powerfully the film captures the chaos, the madness, and the sheer horror of war. It doesn’t just show it, it makes you feel it. Every scene pulled me deeper into that unsettling journey, yes, even the French plantation sequence. There wasn’t a single moment that felt wasted.
I watched the Final Cut, and somehow the 182 minutes just flew by. I haven’t felt that way about a movie in a long time, maybe even ever. And of course, my favorite actor, Harrison Ford, appears in the film. Even though it’s only a small role, it always makes me happy to see him on screen.
Without a doubt, one of the best films I’ve ever seen.
