Apocalypse Now
At this point there are so many Great War films it has become hard to truly differentiate between which is the GOAT. I have been debating this for quite some time between All quiet on the western front, 1917, Saving Private Ryan, etc.
Well ladies and germs… we have without a doubt the GOAT war film.
It is almost impossible that this film can surpass all of the other war films to the point where I can’t even put them in the conversation. They don’t even SCRATCH at what Apocalypse Now was able to do. A truly perfect movie from A to Z.
Pacing, acting, story, cast there is nothing you can say to tear this movie down. Each of these characters are so memorable and distinct in their own way.
While I have many movies above this overall that is due to my personal taste. This is one film where I cannot fathom not being a 5 star.
And yes “I love the smell of Napalm in the morning” lives up to its expectations and from one of the most badass scenes in cinema.
