Interstellar
To watch this in theaters finally was an absolute masterpiece and to say that this isn’t far above any of the other Nolan’s work is just completely erroneous.
I was encapsulated completely throughout this viewing even when I knew the story in full.
Is this the greatest sci fi film ever made? There is certainly an argument. It is still a no for me.
For Interstellar:
The cinematography is ungodly…2001 better
The sound track close to perfection…2001 perfect
The direction impeccable… 2001 elevated
Costume design, tone, impact… you name it. This movie is on another level truly but without 2001 this movie would not have existed. You can see the blatant influence that 2001 had on this film. That is no discredit just a mere observation.
So yes while it may not be my GOAT sci fi, still one of the greatest films of the 21st century and even in general. 5/5 10/10 100/100 no matter what scale you use… it is unbelievable.
