I’ve tried to watch this so many times and I can never get past a few minutes. I think I just need to be honest with myself that I do not like this movie despite really liking Esther.

Very sweet movie without being saccharine. It’s really enjoyable watching Brendan Fraser be a nice guy for two hours.

I really wish there had been more story, because the characters presented to us were so interesting. I just wish they had been explored more. Every time we got close to digging under the surface, the film pivoted in the opposite direction. Beautiful cinematography and costuming though. And so well cast. Truly a let down, but not a terrible film.
