Purposefully watching this film is a form of self harm.

This film might be a hard watch at first since you see Gema make up the most outrageous lies just to get his colleague's attention, but it becomes sad when you realize that he really has no idea of other ways to get friends besides lying. Seeing Gemas' childhood was so sad, because simple things like spending time with his parents felt like everything to him. I still can't forgive the director for fulfilling all of Gemas' wishes and finally giving him friends, only to remind us that this film is supposed to be a dark comedy and kill him off at the end. The dark ending however doesn't ruin the fact that this film is amazing, it shows loneliness and isolation so perfectly, truly and underrated film.
