I'll try to keep the spoilers minimal. Before I went to watch the movie, I had already heard SO much criticism. I was seriously worried that it really WAS that bad. Now, I just realise that I expected too much from people. First of all, the acting was absolutely incredible. I could tell that everyone put their all into this movie. Milly Alcock (who I'm now in love with) was my favourite, but Ruthye conveyed emotion SO well, and I could practically **feel** Jason Momoa's joy at being able to play Lobo, every time he was on screen. Now on to the actual story. The moment this movie came out, everyone suddenly became professional film critics, nitpicking the smallest details, and completely missing the point of the movie while they were at it. This wasn't a "*superhero Vs supervillain*" kind of movie. You weren't supposed to be focused on the bad guys. They're sex traffickers. You're supposed to **hate** them, not be worried that they'll win. THE MOVIE ISN'T ABOUT THEM. It's about the ones they've hurt. It's about dealing with grief, knowing that there's no going back to how things used to be. It's about moving on. **The bad guys are just a plot device**. Supergirl (2026) is a movie about *healing*. But no. Everyone walked in expecting the movie starring a grieving young woman, on a quest to save her only link to her old life, and a 13 year old girl, who wants revenge, to be "*good Vs evil"*, everything wraps up neatly, etcetera. You've got Superman (2025) for that. There you have a character who has to struggle with the world not being completely ready to accept him. Here ? It's Kara that needs to heal enough to accept a new world. Is Supergirl (2026) a perfect movie? Let's be honest, no it isn't. Is it a good movie? Absolutely! And, because someone has to say it, Superman (2025), wasn't phenomenal either! There were plenty of details that weren't perfect. But it didn't **need** to be for everyone to love it. Supergirl should have been in the same category. Listen, I've grown up with these superheroes. So, please believe me when I tell you, that this was a superhero movie. Just not the kind where the answer is easy. Where the answer is black and white. This movie, is SO much more complex than Superman was. There is no simple solution to the problems that the movie centers around. I would have given this 4,5 stars at first. But to be honest, the joy I got from this movie, gives it the half star. And even if it didn't, it gets 5 stars, because I'm petty and I'm sure that 90% of these reviews are influenced by the fact that it centers around women. And if I hear **ONE PERSON REDUCING THE MOVIE TO THAT NEEDLE DROP, I'M GOING TO KI-** (Sorry. What I mean to say is that it's **very telling** that most of the criticism I see, is centered on a 2 minute scene at the end of the movie, featuring a song that *follows the message of the movie*, and not on something more concrete). I don't say this lightly, but it's now one of my favourite movies. If anyone that worked of the movie bothered to read this, I just want you to know that I **loved** it, and it touched me in a way Superman (2025) wasn't able to. Now, please excuse me while I go get a poster of this movie to hang in my room.

I was worried that this movie wouldn't be as good as it's predecessor, and I am **so** glad to be wrong. The men got what was coming to them, and the women were so badass that I still have trouble thinking of anything else (particularly the fight between Elle and Beatrix). The action was phenomenal, but what surprised me was the writing. The way the relationship are so much more complex than in the first movie was a wonderful suprise. The hate Elle has for Beatrix is overwhelmed by the anger she feels that someone as strong as her could **ever** get killed by some pathetic asshole; the love between Bill and Beatrix that didn't end up changing how they ended; Master Pai Mei respecting Beatrix enough to teach her something he had never taught **anyone** before... With revenge movies, I don't expect compelling writing or characters that aren't there just to further the plot, but that's probably because I haven't watched many action movies until this year. So I'm really happy with this movie, which has caused me to think about the first one, and wether I missed the complexity of the characters and their relationships with one another. The comedy was also more prominent here I think. I can't help but smile when I imagine Elle looking up the black mamba, and then writing three pages on her notepad, so that she could read it aloud dramatically to the guy she's killing! In my opinion, this one is better than the first one. It still has some of the same flaws as the first one, but again, they're negligible. And my crush on Uma Thurman *may* have intensified just a bit.

Really fun movie ! I'll always enjoy watching women kick ass, especially when revenge is involved. But what really made this movie more interesting/enjoyable for me, was the creative decisions, such as the bride's narration, the animated sections, etc. While far from a perfect movie (there was occasionally poor acting, and some sound effects that were hilariously out of date for example), it delivered what it promised, with some additional details that made it unique in my eyes. Nothing much more I can say. Good acting, good story, good action... Not really special, but with a few details that makes it stand out. And I swear the rating I gave was **barely** influenced at all by my newfound crush on Uma Thurman! EDIT: One of my favourite parts, now that I think about it, is when the little girl discovers her mother's body on the kitchen floor, and the Bride simply turns to her and says that if she choses to take revenge she would be waiting. Not only hinting at the cycle of revenge, but also not trying to tell you if she's right or wrong for doing what she's doing. It's not black or white. One of the best morally gray messages, especially with something so morally **complex** as revenge, which is one of my favourite things to talk about.

I was **incredibly** disappointed by what I saw. I expected something that would blow my mind, and instead got a mind numbing film, pretending to be something profound. Everything was subpar. The story does it's best to seem mysterious in order to make you curious, but just ends up being an hour of people being annoyingly cryptic. Everyone, including the **main character**, is flat and dull. The relationships were especially rushed (I can't even talk about that stupid romance side plot involving Trinity, unless I want to **genuinely blow a casket**).I felt no attachment to anyone or anything in the film. The concept itself is interesting, but executed in such a boring and basic way that it left me glaring at my screen, urging it to *speed up already*. The only reason it's getting more than half a star, is because some scenes (namely the red pill or blue pill moment), were either well written or well directed. But these moments were few and far between. I could write an entire dissertation explaining why Inception did everything better, but I won't, for the sake of my sanity. I will say one thing though: Inception makes you think and contemplate, while The Matrix tells you what's right and what's wrong. And ... let's just say I've never liked people telling me what to do. It was a boring movie masquerading itself as a complex story, using sophisticated language, serious tones, and one dimensional characters who can be summarised in one phrase **at most**, all while staring at you from it's high horse. In conclusion, I wasn't impressed, and Inception did it better.
