Inception
never watched this before, even though it’s been out forever and people never stop talking about how good it is.
i actually tried watching it a few times before, but never made it past the first five minutes. i’d always end up turning it off because i was sleepy. it’s long, it’s dense, and it makes you think. but once everything started clicking, i was completely hooked.
the beginning wasn’t that exciting for me, probably because i hadn’t figured out what kind of movie it was yet. but the more i watched, the more i got into it. the whole dream concept is just so cool. it’s a nolan movie, so your brain is basically working the entire time. you’re constantly trying to keep up, connect the dots, and figure out what’s going on. somehow, even at two and a half hours long, it never felt boring.
the visuals are insane. the effects still look amazing, and the soundtrack makes everything feel even bigger and more intense.
the story keeps getting more interesting as it goes. the plot gets more complicated, but in a way that makes you want to pay even more attention. i kept rooting for the characters, wondering how they were going to pull everything off. every time i thought i knew where it was going, something unexpected happened. by the end i was completely locked in.
yeah, this movie is popular for a reason.
