Scarface
The film delivered better than I had expected. No wonder why it is a cult classic. The Arc Tony had here and the way Al Pacino performed it was absolutely mesmerizing. The rise of Montana was obvious but he showed a "controlled chaotic" mode. Which was definitely brilliant in the first half of the film. However, I do have some... Things to talk about the second half - the fall. The fall was genuine and taken because of the aggression of Montana and the "kill whoever you see" nature. The action, the ambushes, they were all very engaging and entertaining. But some scenes were rather dragged then being genuine and like the first half of the film. As if the actors are now out of dialogues and are just tryna fit in now. The film is 15-20 min longer than it should've been..that's all. No more complaints.
The themes of the film were very good to explore. Like why did he fall? The obsession was too much, and there is ALWAYS a cost to be great. The way he died was so 'Montana'. Not even a single shread of fear. Facing all the bullets straight in his chest. And then he died right at the "the world is yours" statue. That's the core of the film. Rise of high. In mud you lie.
