The way Bong Joon Ho seamlessly stitches together comedy and commentary is something to behold.

It was a 5 star until the last 10 minutes (excluding credits). I heard this movie was pretentious, but it seemed completely fine to me for the majority of the runtime. Then come the last 10 minutes of… I have no idea what is being said. Other than that, almost flawless storytelling and emotional depiction of the tough childhood of a 60s Texan kid. Highly recommend. 4/5 stars
