Sentimental Value
This movie was no less than what I anticipated it to be.
I think it’s the first movie in a while that left me with warmth in my heart. It’s left me questioning some aspects of life, and the choices made in the movie as well. The opening of the movie was one of my favourites, and the symbolism of the house and what it meant to the each of the family, like each one of them perceived it to be different, it meant something different to them, it was like the house was a member of the family as well.
The scene of Nora, Agnes and Gustavo’s faces overlapping each others was also one of my favourites, despite him being there Nora couldn’t actually erase that part of her, he was able to see himself in Nora.
Maybe distance ≠ connection, Gustav still understanding Nora’s feelings, despite even being there was also something that left me with questions, it’s surprising that his absence wasn’t a barrier for him to understand the downs in Nora’s life, maybe he wasn’t able to share her happiness ( not being able to go watch her in theatre ) but he was able to understand her sadness. Which I think is hard to find as well.
The music choices and the cinematography was so, idk how to describe it, it was so comforting.
I loved this movie
