Parasite
Perfection in everything that is fundamental to the art of film:
- mise en scene- where to place the camera- how to move the camera- when to cut
it feels like having a story directly injected into your brain. Directors are also most responsible for calibrating the tone of the film, I'm told, and Bong once again rises to the massive challenge that he sets for himself. Tone is the one-word explanation for why cinephiles are drawn to South Korean cinema, in my opinion.
it is arguably modest in some ways, but Parasite will no doubt be remembered for its incredibly deep story and artistry. The viewing experience is like watching a humble masterstroke unfurl.
