Obsession

"For my little food critic" First of all HOLY SHIT! THIS WAS GOOD! Curry Baker has done it again! A masterful movie in both directing, writing and acting. Whoever decided to give this guy a budget of a million truly saw the diamond in the rough his debut film so clearly showcased. I especially loved the concept of wishes, something we usually connect to the magical and whimsical being distorted from a horror point of view. The main cast in this absolutely killed it. I especially have to give Nikki's actress her flowers. I haven't seen such a good and horrific performance in a long time. Yes some clear inspirations from recent horrors can be found in how she playes her role, but if anything I think it works well and fits this type of storyline. I watched this on the big screen on premiere night here in Sweden so the movie salon was absolutely packed, which I love for the movie but there's bound to be some people with bad movie etiquette. The group of tweens behind me were talking so loudly it sometimes took me out of the movie. I don't wanna hear about Emily's farts when I'm deeply swept up in the messed up shit happening on the screen thank you very much. I desperately wanna watch this again soon so who knows maybe I'll rewatch it at the cinemas as a treat for passing an exam or something. Amazing cast, amazing tension and just a truly amazing movie. Hope y'all love it too!
