I had to rewatch this.. Every relationship Chiron has being so tragic EXCEPT for Teresa, and her being more of a mother figure to him instead of his actual mother. The last scene we have of Juan is so heartbreaking he looked so distraught.. Chiron later having Juan’s car. Oh yeah don’t even get me started on how Kev looks at Chiron on the beach oh my GODDDF. Him telling him to stay down during that fight because he didn’t want to hurt him anymore. Please have mercy. Oh fuck and that phone call, Chiron becoming less talkative and more shy like he used to be .. they’re watching each other so carefully like they need each other to breathe in that damn diner . The first two parts of this film being about running and fighting when the third is so.. so freeing . And he worked up so much courage to say that at the end. I tried not to cry but when he said that I couldn’t. Chiron listening to Juan’s words about not letting anyone determine who he is. He really built himself back up and started over, becoming his own person. Me and A24 have a love hate relationship
