really great film. probably my favorite film from friedkin (i havent seen the exorcist). really great action in this one. willem dafoe is amazing and steals the show as usual. my favorite actor oat hands down. he elevates this so film so much

dceu rankedstarted 2026 off with a banger. it probably wasnt the best idea to start a 4 hour movie at 9pm when i have to be up at 7am the next day (which is in 5 and a half hours as im writing this) to go skiing, but whatever. this shit is just too good. ill defend the snyder cut until the day i die. i feel like now that the dceu is done and we have gunns new dcu, its easier to enjoy this as an alternate storyline. it has many flaws, but at the same time its just so incredible (at least to me it is). its really fucking long (but i personally wouldnt cut a single scene), its got some insane cinematography, and these characters are just so fucking cool. idc what anybody says batfleck is goated. far from a perfect film, but definitely one of my favorites

2025 rankedeasily one of the best of the year. inga ibsdotter lilleaas and elle fanning were fantastic, but renate reinsve and stellan skarsgård stole the show. they should win everything this award season. great movie to end the year on

such a fun movie. some of the best production design, costumes, makeup & hairstyling, and cinematography that ive ever seen. and the preformances are just perfect. al pacino unironically gives one of my favorite preformances of his here, and is easily the standout. but as great as he and others like warren beatty and madonna are, a lot of other actors felt underutilized. paul sorvino, kathy bates, catherine ohara, and james caan are only in like one scene, and at the end, i was left wishing we saw more of them. but thats my only major issue with this otherwise stellar film
