Chainsaw Man

Rewatched in anticipation of the movie. So sad that its been three years since this aired and we're just getting more CM now. Remains some of the best television of the last 5 years. Funny this is on Letterboxd at all but actually makes total sense given how cinematic this is (hinted at by the dozen or so movie references in the opening theme). The silly title belies how this show is mostly about exploitation, sexual dependency and abuse. The fights are basically besides the point and it's paced beautifully to let quieter moments shine. The scenes of Aki and Himeno sharing a cigarette or of Aki getting ready in the morning would be cut in most shows. On a rewatch I didn't remember how much there is about Denji becoming a cold, heartless killing machine too. Need more Chainsaw man asap.
