How it feels to dream of a deceased loved one lmao. But in all seriousness this movie felt like a fever dream. What i appriciated in all three Tarkovsky movies I've seen so far is that they are all the kind that almost put you to sleep in a good way. They feel like a long meditation and take you out of life (ironically) for two and something hours even if the main themes of the film are life and death. What this movie represents to me is the human desire for connection and also the importnace of being in touch with our community. I never thought that a movie based in a spaceship could feel so tender and human, more so than many others based on the Earth. Seeing him fall attached to the physical copy of his wife felt quite devastating I can't lie, I can only compare it to what dreams of loved ones who aren't here anymore feel like. Such a strange and an amazing exprience, didn't expect that going into it.
